Today we are making christmas salt dough.  This recipe is my grandmothers, and we used to make it when I went to her house, on an old antique pine table and two little chairs, with the radio crackling in the background, not much has moved on for me, I still enjoy the simple side of life.

Basic salt dough recipe is a ratio of 4 cups of cheap plain flour :  1 cup of cheap salt : 1.5 cups of water.

I like to give each child a blob of red food dye in some dough and some glitter as well.  We adorned them with Christmas stamps and hamma beads.

We roll them out till they are 1 cm thick, then cook them in the oven for 3 -4 hours at 100 deg c
