The moon always seems much more intriguing during the winter months. As a family we really notice how it makes us feel. The bright light shines into the windows in the deep dark night, creating awe and wonder.
We printed off a Moon journal, and each night we drew the illuminated side of the moon that we saw, recording the 8 different phases of the moon, waxing, first quarter, waxing crescent, new moon, waning crescent, last quarter, waning gibbous, full moon and waxing gibbous.
This is a great link to understand how we see these different shapes. I hope you have chance to do the same.
