My son had ripped his trousers , then he was mesmerised by the ripping noise and continued ripping them…. which meant a big repair job for me, or could I recycle them somehow?
We decided to cut the legs off and use them for shorts for summer. His little hands snipped away at his trousers, leaving him 2 spare legs cut offs.
“Can I make a bag out of these?” He asked. Off he ran to the sewing basket, eager. So I turned them inside out and pinned it for him, then drew a line for him to stich along.
Next, he drew a sketch of what he wanted on the bag, which I cut out of felt, then he stuck them on with fabric glue.
So next time you have some spare cut off jeans, how about making little bags out of them?
